What To Expect During Your First Visit in Duluth

Chiropractic Duluth GA What To Expect During Your First Visit

Visiting a chiropractor for the first time can be a source of anxiety, but learning about the process beforehand and knowing what to expect can help. No special preparation is needed before your first visit. However, you can save 10-15 minutes by completing your New Patient paperwork before coming in.

Once you come in for your visit, we will ask to see your insurance card and a valid form of identification. To verify whether your insurance will be accepted, please call us at (770) 813-0087. A valid form of identification may be a driver's license, passport, or state identification card.

TOUR OUR OFFICE & MEET OUR TEAM IN DULUTH

During your first visit, a member of our team will take you on a quick tour of our office and will introduce you to members of our team before your consultation begins.

CONSULTATION

At your first visit, it is important for our healthcare professionals to learn about you and the source of your pain. Our chiropractic doctor will ask you a series of questions about your health history and perform a noninvasive physical exam, paying particular attention to your range of motion and spine.

X-RAYS

After your consultation, our healthcare professionals will perform an x-ray examination on your neck, mid-back, and lower back. We use x-rays because they are an effective method of diagnostic testing and allow us to see more deeply into your body and find the source of the problem more quickly. Through x-ray examinations, we are able to pinpoint the exact place you may be having issues and where the pain emanates. Additionally, our chiropractic doctor will be looking for spinal misalignments or any other related injuries to accurately diagnose your condition.

PAIN RELIEF

Lastly, you will be accompanied by our staff to our area designated for physical rehabilitation and receive light therapies for pain relief. We offer transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) therapy, which involves the use of low-voltage electric currents to treat pain. Electrical stimulation helps prevent atrophy and builds muscular strength, reduces inflammation, and improves range of motion.

SCHEDULING YOUR REPORT OF FINDINGS APPOINTMENT

After your therapies are completed, we will schedule a time to review your Report of Findings with you. In this meeting, we will discuss the results of the x-ray and your chiropractic doctor will work with you to create a treatment plan that is right for you. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the treatment plan.

AFTER YOUR VISIT

Some people may experience minor side effects after receiving chiropractic treatment, such as headaches, fatigue, or pain. Please seek emergency medical attention if you experience more severe side effects after your initial adjustment.
